Enjoy Early American Railroad Culture with Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad

Thank you for your stay here at our Hotel. While you are here we would like to suggest “Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad, Los Gatos” as one of our favorite local visitor activities.

Founded by William Billy Jones in 1939, a name synonymous with the California Railroad the Wildcat Railroad has been captivating for both children and adults for over 75 years. William Billy Jones is a true railroad man that worked his way up to engineer for his day job and road kids around in his refurbished 18 gauge steam engine on weekends.

Located in beautiful Oak meadows and Vasona parks The Wildcat Railroad offers rides thru beautiful Los Gatos parkland. What’s more, they feature a 100 year old historical carousel, and a famous railroad memorabilia collection that epitomizes the vibrant early American railroad culture.

The popularity of the Wildcat Railroad stretches far beyond the Valley and has become famous throughout the country. Walt Disney was reportedly interested in buying the railroad and the collection. Later Billy Jones and Walt Disney became friends. When Disneyland opened up in Anaheim California in 1955 Billy Jones was the conductor, on opening day, of the 18 gauge steam engine featured there.

The railroad also has a beautiful Christmas display every year With their Fantasy of Lights Holiday Train. This runs on Winter Schedule for most weekends in December.

Make the most of your stay her in Los Gatos. The Wildcat Railroad offers great recreation for a great price and won’t take up the whole evening. In fact the most common complain the railroad has gotten is that the rides are too short!!

The railroad is open 10;30 to 4;30 on weekends and 10:30 3:00 on Wednesday-Friday

Ticket prices are 2.00 with group tickets of 50 or more 1.50 each. Children 2 years and younger are free with an accompanying adult.  Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad
